Railway Braking Associates is an independent consultancy that was formed in 2004 by Chris Wells in response to a growing rail industry need for a more cost-effective approach to train systems engineering and a trend towards employing engineering expertise on an ‘as and when required’ basis. Our focus is railway braking and associated systems and equipment.
We are a small organisation. However, we network as much as possible and our overview of the rail industry is extensive. This enables us to keep our operating and project costs within tight budgets whilst also ensuring that any new requirements and/or industry developments and issues, etc. are taken into consideration. We actively support British Standards Institution and CEN with European standards development and we regularly engage with RSSB and RISAS in connection with braking safety.
